I do buy quite a few batteries and I measure each of them at delivery. Obviously some are better than others so I started a batteries revew where I put some info about my results. For now it contains two small 7.4V lipos but I will extend it over time with more.

The lithium based batteries are great but they can, sometimes, also be dangerous. While it is quite unlikely, the battery might overheat and even catch fire. One of the most dangerous parts of the battery life is charging. Exactly for this reason you get a warning not to charge the batteries untended just about on every battery pack, battery manual or charger manual. We can, however, easily detect if something goes wrong while charging and if you have anything but a cheapest charger, you will probably be able to connect a temperature sensor to it and it will stop the charging process should the temperature raise over some threshold. ...
